Picture

Appearance

Opaque, Middle-aged wine with dark color

Aroma

Cherry, Cedar, Coffee

Taste

Cedar, Licorice, Plum, Redcurrant.

Finish

Dry, Medium finish with medium tannin content and medium complexity, spicy.

Summary

This wine starts off with big fruit of cherry and plum but well balanced with the supple tannins. This wine has been aged for 32 months in 100% French oak which gives the wine a slight leathery finish which is very typical of big Cabs like this. The oak is very well pronounced in both the aroma and palate as well. Very good wine for a finer meal with red meat. Normal SRP is $60.

I am not really a huge fan of wines. I am a casual drinker; I only get the chance to drink wine during important events that's why I am not really expert if ever I will be tasked to make a wine review! But based on the review that you had for 2010 Hoopes Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, I assume that the said wine pleases you a lot! it doesn't have to be pricey if you really want to have a sip of a good tasting wine because there are affordable brands that are enough.
